Lost Souls now on sale

In honor of the recent debut of the documentary "Lost Souls," we're proud to offer the CD that started it all. "Lost Souls, Psych of the South, Volume 1" presents heaping slabs of garage psych by the Lost Souls, the Blue and the Grey, and other Arkansas bands.

If you missed the full-blown grooviness of the film, bask in the far-out sounds of these long-lost rockers.

New Psych of the South documentary: Lost Souls

We're especially proud of our friends at Psych of the South. Their first release, "Lost Souls" lovingly gathered together and restored 1960's psychedelic and garage band rarities from their native Arkansas.

Now Harold Ott and his crew bring their first documentary film to market. "The Lost Souls" traces the rise and fall of this remarkable regional act, and give viewers a rare glimpse into the exciting 1960's music scene.

"Lost Souls" premieres at the Little Rock Film Festival May 16, 2009.

But if you can't make it, don't despair. You can always purchase "Lost Souls, 1960s Garage and Psychedelic Rock 'n' Roll from Arkansas" and groove to the sounds of the legendary Lost Souls, the Blue and the Gray and many others.

American Masterpieces podcast

Episode #66 of the "DCD Classical 'Cast" showcases the latest release from the Seattle Pro Musica. "American Masterpieces" presents an engaging recital of American choral works. We sample excerpts from "Reincarnations" by Samuel Barber, as well as Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," and music by Morten Lauridsen.

And we feature a beautiful arrangement of the hymn "How Can I Keep From Singing?" by the ensemble's director, Karen P. Thomas.
