American Masterpieces podcast

Episode #66 of the "DCD Classical 'Cast" showcases the latest release from the Seattle Pro Musica. "American Masterpieces" presents an engaging recital of American choral works. We sample excerpts from "Reincarnations" by Samuel Barber, as well as Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," and music by Morten Lauridsen.

And we feature a beautiful arrangement of the hymn "How Can I Keep From Singing?" by the ensemble's director, Karen P. Thomas.

Finishing up scripts for the next 2 episodes of the DCD Classical 'Cast. Recording voice tracks for both tonight! We'll have a program featuring the Seattle Pro Musica's latest release "American Masterpieces," and another that will have (at least in part) selection from Vartan Manoogian's CD Henk Badings: Trio-Cosmos.

We just finished adding sound files for all the tracks on the Seattle Pro Musica release, "American Masterpieces."

This episode of the "DCD Classical 'Cast" we present an assortment of choral music. You'll hear selections from groups large and small. We play selections from the Seattle Pro Musica, Rutgers Collegium Musicium, and the Consort Chorale.

The podcast was easy to put together, but the title was a little tricky to come up with. What is the proper word for a group of choirs? I'm not sure it's the correct answer, but I went with "A Collection of Choirs."

"A Collection of Choirs" is the latest episode of the "DCD Classical Cast." This time we look at choral music from some of the labels we carry. You'll hear two selections from the Seattle Pro Music, as well as the Rudgers Collegium Musicum and the Consort Chorale.

Compositions range from the renaissance to modern-day England and America.

Part 1 of the DCD Holiday Special Podcast Posted

Today we finished recording both parts of the DCD Holiday Special podcast. Part 1 has been posted to the web, and we should have Part 2 ready within the next few days.

This program's all about singing. We play two seasonal selections from the Seattle Pro Musica, as well as a Charpentier work performed by the Convivium Vocale.

Look for Part 2, and if you still want more, remember that last year's holiday episodes (DCD 015 and 016 respectively) are also available to download.

Podcast #23 posted

I recorded the DCD Classical 'Cast, episode 23 on Monday, and finished editing and production earlier today.

This time around we feature music by Allegri and Mozart, two composers related to each other in a very unusual fashion (you'll have to listen to the podcast to find out more). We also resume our look at the Monument Records catalog.
